ARI and eBay Launch the Education Specialist Program at eBay Live!

Program will open opportunities to eBay sellers

New Orleans LA, June 24, 2004

eBay and American Research Institute, Inc. (ARI) announced the "Education Specialist Trained by eBay" program (ESP) at the eBay Live! event in New Orleans. The program provides a way to develop a group of certified trainers who will provide consistency and accuracy in the way sellers were taught, and thus help to protect the eBay brand, while retaining the grass roots movement of the initial training offered by individuals.

American Research Institute, Inc. (ARI) was selected by eBay to create the program. Working closely with eBay, ARI created a full program complete with a standardized professional curriculum, extensive tracking of instructor and student data, international deployment capabilities, and premium back office support services. This program is managed through ARI’s PowerU ™ umbrella of services.

Reaction among veteran eBay sellers was overwhelming. Over 100 people signed up to do the work to achieve the Education Specialist designation. Some of the comments were:

"This is a tremendous opportunity and I am looking forward to teaching others and having a great time."

"I was thrilled to see this program for eBay! I'm looking forward to interacting with everyone and hopefully getting my classes published locally - very soon!"

"With the help and support of eBay and PowerU, I firmly believe we will never be perceived as 'Get Rich Quick' peddlers. There is no doubt in my mind that eBay is the way to go for now, and the future.
I am delighted to be able to share the knowledge of 'Learning eBay the right way.'"
