receiving awardAmerican Research Institute was recently recognized for, "Introduction to Air Force Airworthiness Certification." The international judging committee of the Society for Technical Communication awarded the course with its highest honor, a Distinguished Award. Receiving the award for American Research Institute was Ed Tallon, Vice President of Content Development who said, "Winning this award on our first submission is a great honor and reminds me how talented our development staff is and what they are capable of."

George Proudfoot, Vice President of Government Business with American Research Institute, presented the award to Col. Diana Schulz, Dean of the Air Force Institute of Technology School of Systems and Logistics, in a brief ceremony on Friday, April 21, at the School’s Kettering facility. The original development team members joined Col. Schulz in receiving the award.

In order for American Research Institute to be judged on the international level it first had to win the highest honor at the local level. American Research Institute did so by surpassing other courses entered by IBM, Global Knowledge, SAS Institute, and NASA. The course then went on to be judged against similar entries, all of which were submitted by STC chapters worldwide on an invitation only basis. The highest honor of "Distinguished" was presented to the Airworthiness Course on March 22, 2006, by the international judging committee. The course was displayed at STC’s 53rd Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, May 7-10, 2006.
