Save May 13th and 14th for the First Advanced Learning Technologies Summit

Learn how to incorporate new technologies to involve and excite your learners

Research Triangle Park NC, February 29, 2008

The North Carolina Advanced Learning Technologies Association (NC ALTA), of which American Research Institute is a founding member, will be presenting its first Advanced Learning Technologies Summit in Cary, NC on May 13th and 14th. At this event, we will explore how serious games, virtual worlds, social networks and robotics can be used to inspire, educate and train the “next-gen” workforce. The conference will have tracks focused on healthcare, education, non-profits, government, and business. Within each track there will be sessions on theory and research, practical applications and examples, and ideas for getting started and gaining support. The Advanced Learning Technologies Summit will address not only the learning advantages of serious games, but also have sessions on other technologies that are coming online to improve learning. Technologies like social networking, robotics and haptics.

The format of the conference will use technology to make the conference learning more fun and effective. There will be wireless audience response pads provided to all attendees so participants will no longer be lost in the crowd as passive observers, but can answer questions and provide immediate feedback. The presenter will get a clear sense of what’s happening in the audience. These devices will also enable us to make frequent use of polls, quizzes, and other means to garner a response from everyone in the audience.

The conference will use of a variety of game show formats that will be tailored to the learning objectives of the conference. This will enliven the meetings and bring the excitement and focus of competition. You can find information about the conference at www.altsummit.com.
