ARI CEO to Speak at 2009 Triangle Game Conference

Game Designers and Developers from the Southeast converge on Raleigh

Research Triangle Park NC, April 22, 2009

Richard Kristof, CEO of American Research Institute, will speak about the PowerU Immersion Platform at the 2009 Triangle Game Conference, April 29-30 in Raleigh, NC. The 2009 Triangle Game Conference highlights the Triangle as a hub of game development, with over 30 companies having a presence. More than 35 speaker sessions and panel discussions will be held, on topics including serious games, the business of gaming, games and media, and game technology and development. In addition, the conference will also feature an expo, a game development university, and a career fair.

Mr. Kristof will lead the following session at the conference:

Imagine the Possibilites - Inclusive 3D Immersive Learning
Serious Games | April 29th, 2009 | Session 4

This session outlines some of the key considerations needed to design impactful learning in a 3D immersive world - learning that truly leverages the power of "human experience" that these platforms create. Building storylines that suspend disbelief, giving the learner a sense of presence, and stimulating strong cognitive and emotional responses are critical design elements, and yet they are often overlooked, dissipating the value of using an immersive world as the delivery platform. This session will discuss the importance of competition and fun as key ingredients in the overall learning experience, and outline the skill sets needed by companies looking to leverage the power of 3D immersive learning.

About PowerU
The PowerU Immersion Platform addresses next-generation immersive learning platform needs: providing a stable and secure platform; deep, recurring serious game play and in-world social networking opportunities; machine configuration support; intuitive interfaces; and the tools and technologies required to create a next-generation immersive learning platform.

The PowerU platform also supports emerging revenue streams such as in-game advertising, multiple subscription levels, and in-game product sales. Additionally, PowerU technologies accelerate time-to-market, reduce development costs, and give operators the ability to flexibly and cost-efficiently update and maintain the game world and game community. The technology suite—network technologies, graphics system, game rules and tools—can be used as middleware in the creation of any type of 3D learning experience.
