3DI Quick Start Program

The 3DI Quick Start Program will give you a way to experience what it takes to move to 3DI. ARI experts will work with your personnel to develop and deliver a working 3DI module that is customized to your specifications and requirements. This can be accomplished in a period of about 45 business days. This module will provide a demonstrable proof of concept to decision makers so they can appreciate the benefits of the end result of moving to a 3DI learning process.

Our team of professionals is highly skilled in working with organizations like yours to identify core training concepts that are well suited to this new and innovative training approach. More importantly, by being part of the process your developers will see how we approach the design, development and implantation of the 3DI demonstration module. Your people will know what is required, how it relates to your current process, and what new skills will need to be learned.

Process

The 3DI Quick Start Program will review the following areas in the process of selecting, designing and implementing the demonstration module so that the transition plan will be able to address all critical areas:

Learning Design and Development Personnel—The people responsible for designing and creating your training courses will need to be well-versed in not only traditional instructional design techniques, but also the special challenges of designing effective learning modules that support multi-level, multi-learner, and complex branching scenarios.

Learning Systems—Existing Learning Management Systems (LMSs) support the delivery of traditional e-learning, but cannot handle the delivery of training based on virtual worlds or other advanced technologies. We will demonstrate ways to augment your existing tools so that you can economically add new technologies in a gradual fashion.

Tracking and Control—Tracking learner progress within learning that is based on virtual worlds, multiple players, and complex scenarios presents a real challenge in “data modulation”. Our 3DI Quick Start Program team will show you ways we can translate performance in the scenario with the achievement of learning objectives.

Protecting Legacy Content—You have a lot invested in both learning tools (like an LMS) and learning content. As part of the 3DI Quick Start Program, we will identify ways to protect these investments.

Corporate Communication and Governance— Introducing a new way of doing things always involves more of a human nature challenge than a technical challenge. Our team is highly experienced in working directly with your training content designers and learners to encourage them to think in new ways and to master new tools.

User Generated Content—Many tools are emerging to allow people to generate their own content – from blogs and wikis to YouTube videos. Our program will show you how our how the PowerU tools will let you review, edit, categorize, and situate this content to leverage your learning.

Security and IP Protection—Advanced learning technologies present new challenges if security and intellectual property issues are not addressed from the beginning. Our program will offer suggestions on ways to mitigate these risks and help you to build a safe and responsible platform to take advantage of the enormous potential of advanced learning technologies.

Deliverables

1. 3DI Demonstration Module
The developed module will be played from a hosted PowerU server using the Icarus Engine and controlled by the PowerU LMS. It will consist of:

2. Post-Development Plan
After the module is deployed and evaluated, the ARI team will work with your team to develop a plan that includes:
