PowerReg, a registration system that manages learners and learning resources

Many organizations track student registration for training events using manual and time-consuming methods. These may include collecting requests from e-mail, web forms, or telephone calls and then updating a spreadsheet to track the information. However, as the number of events and registrants grow, these methods can't scale to handle the increased load.

American Research Institute, Inc. (ARI) offers our PowerReg™ solution to support your student registration activities. PowerReg™ is designed to handle the additional workload as your training operation grows. Our registration services are part of our corporate university offering, PowerU, but are also sold and supported as a separate service. PowerReg™ is a simple and very manageable solution that helps to manage key areas of the registration process.

Registrants are able to register and pay in real-time and have their confirmations sent back via e-mail. The system also supports group registrations so an administrator can enter many registrants easily and quickly.

The web-based registration portal is customized to your desired look and feel. The same screens are used for both instructor-led class registrations and people signing up to access self-paced e-learning.

Personal information is captured in one place and doesn't need to be re-entered when registering or paying for subsequent courses.

The system maintains a wait list for classes that are currently full and notifies registrants of their status.

With the reporting provided by PowerReg™, administrators and instructors track the number of signups over time for an event. This information helps with decisions to cancel under-subscribed events or add additional sessions with high demand.

Instructors can access a current class roster which can be reviewed online or printed. The system triggers notifications, such as reminders, instructions, and directions, to be e-mailed to registrants at designated times before each event.

Administrators see summarized information that shows how each course and session is doing over time so periodic changes to the curriculum can be based on sound statistical information.

Instructors, training rooms or outside venues, course materials, and course equipment also need to be scheduled and tracked. PowerReg™ handles these support resources by treating each as inventory items assigned to a particular event. By keeping track of what is needed for each class and the number of people registered, the system ensures that the right amount of equipment and training material is available at the right time for the class to begin. Warnings are issued when resources for a particular session are unavailable so new rooms can be booked, new course materials printed and shipped, or replacement instructors scheduled.

Audience Response System

audience responseARI can power up your meetings by offering wireless audience response units with software and services tailored to your event.

Research has shown that people learn better when they have the ability to interact and give feedback. This is sometimes difficult in a meeting with 30 or 40 people, and almost impossible if there are many more attendees.

This ARI service provides wireless audience response pads to all attendees. Participants are no longer lost in the crowd as passive observers. By designing a series of interactions with the help of presenters, ARI can provide participants with the ability to answer questions and provide immediate feedback throughout your event. We work with presenters to make sure they can use the system effectively so they can get a clear sense of what's happening in the audience. In designing each presentation, ARI makes frequent use of polls, quizzes, and other means to garner a response from everyone in the audience.
